We are delighted to share that on Sunday 28 November, after a vacancy created 18 months ago by the departure of Rev Dr Alun Ford, the Bishop of Ely has announced that the Revd Canon Nick Moir, currently the Vicar of St Andrew’s Chesterton, has accepted the offer to be Priest-in-Charge of the Benefices of Fen Ditton, Horningsea and Teversham. Nick’s last Sunday at St Andrew’s will be 27 February and while the date for his licensing is still to be confirmed, we hope he will be able to join us in time for Easter. Nick has been very supportive to our three parishes during the vacancy, and we are excited to receive his guidance and ministry.
Everyone is welcome in our village church this festive season. There are services to suit everyone, even if you are not a regular churchgoer. Enjoy singing? Want to celebrate the birth of Christ on the holy night itself? Come to our midnight communion. And although there is no daytime service on Christmas Day this year, our nativity scene will be on display in the church porch, so if you are out for a walk on Christmas afternoon you are welcome to come past to take a look, and there will be a donation box for any non-perishable food gifts you would like to leave for the Cambridge Food Bank. For full details see the attached flyer!- Dec 18 - 4pm crib service- Dec 19 - 6pm carol service- Dec 24 - 11.30pm - Midnight MassNB there will be no service in Fen Ditton on Christmas Day, but there will be services at Teversham at 10am and Horningsea at 9.30am.
