Are you considering a wedding or christening at St Nicholas' Church? If you live within the parish, this is something that is available to you. If you live in another parish, you would need to have an existing strong connection, such as regularly attending worship here or a family-history link. We'd love to discuss your options with you as you prepare for these special occasions.
At present, baptisms (also known as christenings) are usually held at 12.30 p.m. on Sundays, by arrangement. At times when there is a high volume of requests, we might baptise children from two families at the same time - baptism is not aprivate family event, but taking our place within God's family, the Church; but, on the other hand, we don't want it to feel impersonal, which is why we would normally cap christenings at no more than two families at a time. Families requesting a christening will need to meet with Revd Andrew Dowsett before we can confirm plans.
In the first instance, to discuss what is possible, please speak with Revd Andrew Dowsett after the 10.30 a.m. service on any Sunday morning.
