Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent, the season of self-examination in preparation to celebrate Easter. Easter moves with cycles of the moon, and this year falls on 20th April, with Ash Wednesday falling on 5th March. On Ash Wednesday we receive the mark of the cross, in ash and oil, on our foreheads as a reminder of our mortality and God's deep love for us. Our service of Holy Communion, with the Imposition of Ashes, will take place at 7.00 p.m.
There will also be the opportunity to be 'ashed' at the Warm Welcome Space (10.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.) earlier in the day.
