Getting here
St John the Baptist began life as a community hall used for worship on the estate when it was first built in the 1950's. A new church building was erected in 1981 and paid for by public subscription from around the Team Parish. Today we are seeking to encourage community use of our recently refurbished and updated facilities in the hall.
We celebrate a Parish Eucharist every Sunday at 9.00am, except on the First Sunday of the month when our joint Parish All-age Service at 10.00am rotates around the churches of the parish and St Simon's, Wenlock Road.
The Eucharist is also celebrated on a Thursday morning at 10.00am.
On Thursday mornings we hold our 9 o'clock Coffee Stop in the church hall at St John's between 9.00am and 11.00am. All are invited to drop in for a good cup of coffee or tea and chat - bacon rolls are also available! We have high chairs, floor mats and toys for little ones and enjoy a gathering of all ages.
Brownies meet on a Thursday evening in the church hall at 6.00pm There are places available for 7-10 year old girls.
All enquiries re use of the church hall should be made to the Parish Office tel 0191 489 1925 or [email protected]
