A service of Holy Communion (The Eucharist) with optional ashing.

Join us for a traditional service of Holy Communion with the imposition of ashes as we mark the beginning of Lent and our time of preparation to celebrate Easter. Our speaker for the evening will be Alison Donnison and Rev Kath will be leading the service. The organ will be played and we'll sing hymns as we hear words from Matthew's Gospel and prayerfully begin our Lenten journey.

Welcome to St Nicholas, Hedworth Lane. We're an open and inclusive community, worshiping from the beautiful church building in the midst of Boldon Colliery. We want to share the love of Jesus that we know in our lives with those in our community. 

St Nic's is also home to Messy Church in the Boldons, our family orientated church which meets monthly and is full of songs and stories, craft and fun, and food and prayer. Little Angels our stay and play toddler group meets every Thursday morning in term time.
