Earth Hour is a worldwide movement to encourage positive environmental impact. We can show support for our planet by turning off all non-essential lights and unnecessary electrical devices for 1 hour from 8.30pm – 9.30pm on Saturday 26th March. You can find out more at www.earthhour.orgJust before 8.30pm There will be an introduction on Facebook if you are able to join us. 8.30pm All non-essential lights and electrical devices switched off (if you haven’t already). Feel free to pray as you wish. Take part in some/all of the prayer station activities linked to creation and the environment that can be completed at home with things you will probably have in your house already. Or silent prayer, perhaps focussing on Genesis 1:1-31 or the readings for Compline. See resources list and instructions below. 9.30pm Turn on your lights and electrical devices if you wish, or continue without them for as long as you like. It is World Water Day on Wednesday 22nd March. Here are some tips to save water.-Water plants in the morning, so that less water evaporates.-When you run the tap, while you wait for it to get hot, collect the water. Use that water to water the plants.-Reduce the length of your shower by 1 minute.
The fashion industry is the second most polluting in the world after the oil industry1.
