We are a happy friendly bunch of ladies, who meet every Monday afternoon at St Alban's between 1pm -3-30pm. We knit, sew,
embroider and cut out for toddler crafts. Best of all we put the world to right. Some of our ladies just come for the social side,
cup of tea, coffee, biscuits and sometimes cake. We share our ideas, helpful if anyone has problems with their craft, and words of comfort when needed.
Our stall at the Christmas Fayre had lots of articles made by our ladies all donated, with money going to church. If you are sitting at home bored or lonely, come along, we would love to see you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t do craft, come for the company and a good natter. All this for a £1 donation much cheaper than Costa Coffee!

Address
Church Road Gateshead Fell Gateshead, NE9 5RD, United Kingdom

All are welcome at the Place of Welcome that happens each Tuesday in St Johns, you will be sure of a warm welcome, drinks, biscuits, cakes (often home made) and home made soup.
We have people who come early and share a coffee and a slice of cake, others who come and stay all morning and then those who come just for their lunch.
All are welcome to join us.
We now have 2 spaces set out for this as the kitchen can occasionally become too full - so if you are someone who wants a quieter space that is on offer as well.
On the last Tuesday of the month at 10.45am we have a time of prayer through our Celtic Worship service which happens in the other small room or in church - all are invited to come along or to stay in the kitchen or back room.
If you have not been along yet do pop in - Shirley and Veda will almost always be on hand to make you a cuppa and serve you cake and soup. Other members of the congregation are often there as well, joining in the conversations, lending an
ear to a problem or sorting out something in church. We often have a member of clergy there as well - so if a chat with them would be helpful just let them know.
If you know someone who is lonely, recently bereaved or just in need of a friend why not bring them along a few times

Christingle Service

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Alban's Windy Nook
Address
St Alban's Windy Nook, Windy Nook Road Gateshead Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE10 9SL, United Kingdom

Christingle is a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope. Christingle celebrations are named after the Christingles that are lit during the ceremony.
Christingles are oranges wrapped in red tape, decorated with dried fruit or sweets, with a candle on the top.
Each element of a Christingle has a special meaning and helps to tell the Christian story:
* The orange represents the world
* The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
* The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations
* The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.
