Safeguarding Information

The Parochial Church Council of the Parish of Gateshead (St James & St Bede and St Edmund) is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for everyone, especially for children, young people and vulnerable adults.  it has adopted and approved the Church of England policy for promoting a safer church.  This policy deals with all aspects of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies. Our Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Beth Miller.
