Jesus is risen, and we too come out of the darkness of mourning to celebrate! Some of us will already have met for Dawn Praise, and will be in need of sustenance and warmth. Others will be looking forward to a family day. But we're all invited to gather for refreshments BEFORE the 11.00am service, instead of afterwards. There will be sausage buns, and hot cross buns (and maybe a few surprises too). Our social times are always lively - this could be REALLY lively.

Then at 11.00am we'll begin the service, lighting our new Easter candles outside church, before processing in. This year, we're baptising three new members of one of our key church families as part of the service, following a great Easter tradition, so that will make the service different and extra special too. Of course there will be communion, but will there be time for a sermon? You'll have to come to find out.

As Easter falls on the fifth Sunday of the month, this is a joint service for the whole parish - there will be no services at the other churches on Easter Day.

St Peter's Wolviston

Until the early 20th Century, St Peter's and St Cuthbert's were the only churches in the area, but as the town of Billingham grew rapidly, new estates grew that now link the whole area. However, St Peter's remains in many ways a village church, serving the long-established village of Wolviston, but contributing energy and imagination to the Billingham Team Parish.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm across all our congregations and activities. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
