St. Thomas is one 2 churches in the Parish of West Weardale (together with St John the Baptist, St John's Chapel) and of 4 churches in the United Benefice of Upper Weardale. The parish is currently in interregnum.

We are currently served by  Associate Priest Heather Ross, Assistant Curate Michael Baldwin as well as several active retired priests.
