About Us

St Mary’s Church is a Grade 1 listed building, founded on a monastery and dates from the 8th century. It was re-modelled and extended in 13th century and still retains many features from that period.

The church is set in a beautiful location by the village green and right next to the River Tees.  It is the home of a vibrant Church community who seek to make the Church a place of welcoming, support and spiritual growth for all who visit.
