Whitworth Church is now open to visitors during the day on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays over the summer months, and on the third Sunday of the month in July, August and September afternoon teas are available for visitors.

The church is the burial place of Bonny Bobby Shafto and is located beside the 'The Way of Life' Northern Saints' Trail, which starts in Gainford, passes Bishop Auckland, before ending in Durham City.

Welcome to the parish church of Whitworth, located next to the grounds of the Whitworth Park Estate on the outskirts of Spennymoor.

Steeped in history, Whitworth Church includes a crypt beneath the floor where members of the local Shafto family were were laid to rest.
