Butterknowle Beavers, Cubs and Scouts visited St. Cuthbert’s again this morning (Saturday, September 21st). The older children had created a Nature Trail to go up in the churchyard, and made quadrats from pea canes and twine to provide focus for 2 of the activities. The younger children enjoyed following the trail, which has been left up in the churchyard for villagers to use. Peter Bell, a local fungi enthusiast, spent time with the children, finding 16 different species and enthralling us with fascinating facts. Our ‘Findings Table’ was full of interesting discoveries!
