The Scouts visited church for the last time this year to erect three bird boxes in the churchyard, and complete the signage for the self-guided nature trail they have set up for the public to use.The Cubs stayed indoors to work towards their Faith badges by learning about Christianity. Revd. David Spokes talked them through the content of a typical Communion service, showed them the bread (wafer) and wine, and talked about baptism. The children enjoyed playing the organ, and also took turns to ring the bell. The Scouts couldn’t resist having a go either! Hot chocolate and biscuits were enjoyed outdoors in unseasonably mild weather. St. Cuthbert’s looks forward to working with the children on other projects in the new year.
