Getting here
St Luke's is a community whose purpose is to share Christ's love with all people, through worship, learning, caring relationships and service to others. In a largely residential parish St Luke’s draws together people of many different ages, backgrounds and Christian traditions. Over the years, the church has built a reputation as a friendly, open, family-oriented community that is forward thinking.
Built during the First World War, the stone built, traditional style church has oak pews, an oak Reredos and communion rail, a Makin electronic organ (the disued pipe organ is still in-situ), plasma screens and a modern sound system. There is direct access to the Parish Centre from the church. A Prayer Room has been created. A corner of the church has been set aside as a children's area. The music group (Focus) leads the singing at two monthly services.
