Proposed creation of Derwent Valley Team Ministry
As part of the Deanery Planning process and months of meeting and consultations, it has been proposed that a new 'Derwent Valley Team Ministry' be created covering the benefices of Medomsley, Ebchester, Hamsterley, Leadgate, Consett, Benfieldside and Castleside. If confirmed, the scheme will involve the dissolution of the benefice of Medomsley, St Mary Magdalene and others in the West of Lanchester Deanery and the formation of a new multi - Benefice and establishment of a new team ministry.
