It was lovely to see so many people in church today (Sunday, August 6) for the Transfiguration service. For the first Thursday in the month we will be holding our usual Morning Prayer service in church, starting at 9.45am.It's quiet week in the hall, as some activities stop during the school holidays. A lovely service today for the 7th Sunday after Trinity, taken by the Rev Andrea Dart, who will be with us next week also, usual time of 11am.On Tuesday is our PCC meeting, when we will continue to work on the Vacancy Audit Workbook which will help inform the recruitment of a new priest for the parish.Also this week will be the first meeting of the working group set up to plan for the 150th anniversary of St James this November.The summer holidays have curtailed hall activities. There will be no scouts, cubs or coffee morning.But there will still be Sew and Chat (Wednesday 1.30pm), Zumba (Wednesday 6.30am) and Gentle Exercise (Thursday 2pm).
