I am married to Graham, and we have four grown-up sons and four grandchildren. I was licensed as a Lay Reader in 1994 and ordained as a SSM in 2010 at Canterbury Cathedral. We moved to Derby in 2013 to be nearer family and, due to the illness of the local P-i-C in our parish church, I looked after his two churches for just over two years.

I took a course in Spiritual Accompaniment and was licensed to the Derby Diocese in 2016. I am a Chaplain with the Derby Chaplaincy and am Trustee and Chaplain to the Derby War Memorial Village in Allenton and Shelton Lock.

I joined the Ministry Team at St Peter's in 2017 with PTO and have worked happily with the team ever since. I enjoy working with people of all ages and am a member of the 'Tell me a Story' initiative and our PopUP Church. Outreach and Mission are very important to me, as is working with our Green Group to promote lifestyle changes to help us live in an eco-friendlier society.

I grew up in Chellaston and attended St Peter's with my parents and two brothers. As a child I sang in the choir and learnt to bell ring. After marriage to Rupert we continued to worship at St Peter's. I have two grown up daughters. I joined the PCC as a young representative at the age of 16. I have had various roles at St Peter's through the years - Sunday School Teacher/ Coordinator, Bell Tower Captain, Treasurer, PCC Secretary, Parish Administrator, and following prayer and exploration, Reader (licensed 2011). I support Cake and Company, Coffee Morning, PopUP Church, produce the church breakfast, coordinate the church fairs and festivals, am leader of the 'Tell me a Story' Group that go into Chellaston Infants School, and a member of The Green Group, Churches Together Group and The Fellowship Group. As part of my Ministry I enjoy pastoral work and am keen to develop the connections we have with the schools in the community. I lead a Bible Study and coordinate the prayer group sessions and walks. I 'front' the joint Holiday Club - which we organise with the Methodist Chapel - a week of mornings during the summer and a day just before Christmas.

I have been worshipping at St Peter's since 1990 when my husband was appointed organist. I have been a member of the choir since then, and I joined the PCC almost immediately, and chaired the Education and Mission Committee for a number of years. As my daughters grew up, I supported the various children's groups from Children's Church to youth Group and Activity Week in the summer. I joined the Ministry Team when I retired from teaching in 2019 and helped to lead our worship on Zoom during lockdown. In January 2021 I started the Mission and Ministry course and began to consider my vocation. I felt called to readership ministry in 2022, and well supported by BJ, I was licensed as a Reader in April 2023. Since then I have continued to lead worship and preach in church. I support many of the church's ecumenical and outreach activities, including Churches Together in Chellaston, Tell me a Story and PopUp Church. I regularly take Communion to Bluebell Park Care Home where I am now Chaplain. I recently completed my training and received permission to celebrate funerals and have just taken my first one.
