Thank you to all who came to church to share this service with us yesterday evening. Church looked festive and bright, the organ played in accompaniment, everyone sang their favourite carols and enjoyed refreshments afterwards. Christmas is always better shared with ones' friends in the community! An especial Thank you must go to our organist, Nigel. Thank you Nigel!
Thank you to all who came to share the Christmas Tree Festival and for those people who contributed beautifully dressed trees! it really was a special weekend with fun and laughter, good food and beautiful trees and stalls! Our new-style "Cafe" service on Sunday morning proved a great success and was much enjoyed. We are embracing different and less formal ways of worshipping together. Church is dressed ready and we are preparing for Christmas. Be sure to join us on December 15th for Candlelight Carols, for the Codnor Parish Council Civic Brass Band Carol service on December 17th and Carols in the churchyard on Christmas Eve. All are welcome - the more, the merrier! See our site information for more information.
Our beautiful and homely little church was founded in 1844. We have been celebrating Christmas and all the great Christian festivals ever since. We no longer have a church choir, but we still have wonderful music at each of our services. At Christmas, the church echoes to the sound of traditional and modern Carols, accompanied by the organ. Come and join in and soak up the atmosphere!!This year, we are also proud to host the annual Parish Council Carol Service as well as the annual Codnor Primary School Nativity/Carol Service.
