November 12th 2024 Good evening everyone. I wanted to write to you all following the Makin report and the Archbishop's resignation today. As I have watched the news unravel, I guess like you there are mixed emotions. Firstly, sadness at how the church has once again failed abuse victims and to prevent abuse. Tonight, we pray for all those victims and those affected. It is such a difficult time. Secondly, safeguarding will always be something I am passionate about. I know that within any congregation there are likely affected people. If you need support please reach out, to me, to the safeguarding team, to your friends. For those who still hold a silent secret know we care. For those who support safeguarding in our church and schools - thank you. Let us all play our role and part. It is all of our business and concern. Finally, for those in authority and influence tonight in the Anglican Church I pray wisdom, humility and grace. Let our church learn, let our church boldly face the past and the future. Let us commit to being people and places of safety and doing all necessary. May the powerful love of Christ be present, may the spirit change and renew, may the Father bring all things to his recreated glory. Rev. Laura
Come along to a quiet, reflective half hour communion service this week. Simple, beautiful, peaceful.
