On the first Saturday of each month (except July Church Fete) the church holds a coffee morning between 10am–12pm in the Parish Room, hosted by various groups or a group of people.

Rodger or Richard, or both, suggested we hosted one with a slight difference and September was available. We agreed to this and then thought what have we let ourselves in for !!!!!!!!!!We decided on a theme and Rodger was a schoolboy complete with catapult and Richard came as a football referee complete with yellow and red cards.

We therefore needed a strict school headmaster to keep us under control. We asked Chris to do this, and he played the part very well, even confiscating Rodger’s catapult!For a couple of weeks leading up to the event we asked for volunteers to bake for us.

The day arrived, and feeling a little apprehensive we set up the parish room and waited to see what cakes etc we were going to receive.

We were very pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by the support we received. A big thank you to all those who gave of their time to help us.

Several raffle prizes were donated, so we say a big thank you and also a thank you to Stuart who ran the raffle for us.

A thank you to Chris, our headmaster, who tried to keep Rodger and I under control (not an easy task!) and he also made the announcements and hosted the drawing of the raffle prizes, thank you.

We wish to thank everyone who came to support us, we were overwhelmed by the turnout.

The total raised was £225.65, what a result.

So, if Rodger and I with much assistance can host a coffee morning, why not offer yourselves, a small group of people getting together, who knows what gifts and talents we may unearth.

So once again a big thank you to everyone.
