About Us

St Mark's was originally a mission church in Hipper Street West, New Brampton, Chesterfield, under the auspices of St Thomas', Brampton. In 1940 a new building combining church and hall was opened in St Mark's Road, Brampton, becoming a parish in 1968.

In March of 2024 the neighbouring parishes of St Mark, Brampton and St Thomas, Brampton were formally merged into a single parish.  The main focus of worship within the new parish is the church of St Thomas on Chatsworth Road.  A service of Morning Prayer is held once a month at St Mark's.

St Mark's continues to be a focus for the local community with a number of groups making use of our premises
