St Lawrence

Barlow is a friendly church with a warm welcome for all, young and old alike. The Grade 2 listed building and grounds are beautifully maintained and have a rich history dating back to the md 1100's.

We welcome enquiries for baptisms and for weddings, blessings after civil marriage and renewal of vows. The churchyard is open for burials (and the burial of ashes) and our clergy team can offer funeral services in church, at the crematorium or other local sites eg woodland burial grounds.

The church has strong links with the community including the church school.

Our main Sunday morning service is 11am Mass with a quiet said Mass service at 8am (usually ) on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Please check the church website calendar for the most up to date information.

On weekdays, 9 am Morning Prayer and 5 pm Evening Prayer are said via Zoom across the 3 churches in the benefice: please contact Rev'd Sarah ([email protected]) for further details.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Great Barlow is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm.
We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Maria Barnes, who can be contacted either by phone: 07716 129311 or email: [email protected]
Our Diocese of Derby’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.
If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO (as above) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Hannah Hogg on 01332 388682 / 07540 719447 or email [email protected].
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
