Christ Church, Wessington

Christ Church stands opposite the village green in Wessington; there are several wells near by which are decorated for the annual Well Dressing weekend usually held over the first weekend in July. On the Saturday, after much hard work preparing the decorations, there is an opening service in church followed by a Blessing of the Wells.

Do visit our website for details of Sunday services and come along to one.

Christ Church has a Meeting Room constructed alongside the church which is well used by local groups such as the Mums and Toddlers and the local Parish Council. Church members are especially pleased to have good links with the local primary school children, parents and teachers.

The church also hosts a monthly Pop-Up Shop with local produce and a Coffee Shop.

Christ Church is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Derby’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
