On Christmas Eve from 9.30p.m -11.00p.m. - St John's Church is open for viewing of the display of lit memorial candles. This will also provide the opportunity to see St John’s Christmas decorations at night.

This is followed by the Christmas Eve 11.30p.m. onwards - “Midnight” Service led by Malcolm, Bishop of Repton

The candles will be removed on Sunday 31st December, so if you would like to keep your holder please collect it before that date.

Welcome to the home page of St John the Baptist Church, “The Cathedral of the Peak” in the Derbyshire Parish of Tideswell.

St John's Tideswell is open for private prayer from 10am - 4pm daily unless there is a funeral or wedding. All are welcome in this ancient space where people have prayed for centuries, take a slow walk round the church or simply sit for a while.
