St John’s is about to start a major project to renew the antiquated lighting in the Church. We’ve been fundraising for some time and finally have enough to start the work. Thank you to all who may have contributed.Scaffolding will be needed and during the time the scaffolding is being erected and dismantled the Church will have to be closed for safety. After that, whilst the works are continuing, access to the Church will be restricted but you will be permitted to see as much as is safely possible. We don’t know for sure how long the works will take but the Church will be closed from Monday 12th August until at least Friday 16th August. We appreciate this may be disappointing if you are planning a visit but we hope you understand these are safety measures that have to be taken.Peter and Gill Churchwardens

Simon and Gillian’s final service in the Parish was on October 8th at St John’s Tideswell. We wish them well in their move and for the future.
A comprehensive guide book to St John’s is available for purchase. Bernard O’ Sullivan has kindly donated his time and skills to produce the images for the book and Antony Pritchett, born and raised in Tideswell, has given his time, freely, in producing an excellent and well researched text, based on his own research. The Guide published by the ‘Friends of Saint John’s’ is priced at £8, and is on sale in the church. Get your new Guide while stock lasts.
