Christmas Carol Concert 16th December 2022

All Saints Church provided a stunning setting for the Carol Concert. Greeted by pealing church bells, twinkling lights and a beautifully decorated church bathed in flickering candlelight, a 100+ congregation packed the church. Shirland Welfare Brass Band created a magical Christmas atmosphere with a mix of traditional Carol’s, instrumental solos and more popular music. Our thanks to Lynden Cooper (MD of Shirland Welfare Brass Band) for his conducting and humorous encouragement which soon had everyone taking part.

The interval saw the congregation enjoying a glass of wine and a mince pie whilst the raffle was drawn. The hugely successful evening received many favourable comments from an appreciative audience, with several requests for the event to be repeated next year.

Thanks to Dennis Holmes for his suggestion to hold the Christmas Carol Concert with our local brass band and for organising it so well. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening such a special community event. It certainly felt a lot like Christmas.
