Bishop Michael and his wife Gina came to Crich from the Lambeth Conference and stayed with Rev Jim and Lynda Gray.

Bishop Michael updated us all about the challenges that the Christian Church faces in North East India and also explained the persecution of those with Christian faith. 
India has become a country where the Government's aim is to make the nation totally Hindu and to suppress all other faiths if they can.  Muslims are experiencing as much persecution and suppression as are the Christians.

Bishop Michael assured us all, with examples from real life, about how this attempted suppression actually has the opposite effect on Christians, especially on Christians of the lower castes.  The more the persecution, the stronger individual faith in Jesus Christ grows!  Praise God!

Bishop Michael told us of his visions for the future of those in his Diocese - education; training of many more nurses his wife Gina trains nurses); training of even moore priests for the future so that every church group has their own pastor.  We heard some amazing stories of God's providing real answers to his vision for the future.
