After two years of Irene being unable to travel due to COVID it was wonderful to see her with us again in Crich last Sunday. Irene updated us on what has been happening with the project in Kenya and we all truly rejoiced in what is happening there now from such small beginnings and from her vision for the future of the people there.
The project is now a sustainable agriculture project, providing clean water, food for the families involved as well as surplus food which can be sold (tomatoes' green vegetables, milk and honey (how Biblical does that sound!?)
In addition, the educational and job seeking support continues for the group of young adults who have been part of the project since it began.
Irene gave us an amazing testimony of how God has supported her through the emotional traumas she has undergone herself over the past few years, in particular since her own son was killed in a traffic accident in 2018. she got very close to giving up on her vision, but God pulled her through it all.
Irene taught us the song often sung by the children in her village:
MWAMBA, MWAMBA, YESU NDIYE MWAMBA
SOLID ROCK, SOLID ROCK. JESUS IS THE SOLID ROCK.
