About Us
**SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT**
It was announced during the service on Sunday 28th May that Fr Andrew and his family will be leaving St Chad's to take on the post Vicar at St Mary the Virgin and All Souls, Bulwell, Nottingham. Bulwell is very closee to Andrew and Louise's wider family, and Nottingham is an old stamping ground for the two of them.
The decision to accept the post was not an easy one to make. Andrew and Louise feel that they are saying goodbye to many friends, not merely parishioners, colleagues or members of the congregation.
During the service Fr Andrew spoke, saying "The decision to move has not been an easy one for us, and I know there will be a whole range of emotions for folk hearing the news. However, we go knowing that St Chad's is in good hands. The important thing for St Chad's is that, during the vacancy, the church continues to pull together, to work together, and to build upon everything that has been achieved over the last 4-5 years. A lot has been achieved and the mission and ministry of St Chad's is held in high regard by the parish, the community and the Diocese".
The date for Fr Andrew's licensing has yet to be confirmed, but should be at the beginning of September. Do come and support him, and please pray for the folk at St Chad's and in Wood End, for Andrew and his family, and the folk at St ary's as Andrew is unleashed upon them.
NB Now that the announcement has been made, the Archdeacon and Area Dean will come and speak with the congregation, and meet with the ChurchWardens and Parochial Church Council, and begin the process of discernment for the next Vicar. During the vacancy, which will begin during the summer holidays, all enquiries should be directed to the Churchwardens.

Welcome to St Chad’s. God has been worshipped here for over 50 years, when the Wood End, Henley Green and Manor Farm estates were created. The Grade II listed church building, designed by Sir Basil Spence, stands in a changing parish as a sign of God's unchanging love for us, whoever we are and whatever our need.
St Chad’s is the spiritual home for a loving community of people who share a faith in Jesus Christ. St Chad's is a church where all are welcome. We strive to be friendly, caring and accepting. This year, we entered into a partnership with St Aidans Missional Community to broaden our ministry with special attention to the 20-30 year old age group. We have been joined by Rev Gareth Irvine, and Rev Jenny Irvine, whom we welcomed as a wonderful addition to our team. We are all looking forward to great things happening within this new partnership!
Please watch our service listing for our regular Afro-Caribbean service - a lively time for all!

At 3pm on the 5th Sunday of the month we enjoy Messy Church, a free, fun time filled with themed arts and crafts (and Lego), informal worship and a good meal. Parents are welcomed to attend with their children.
