In January, Mark is running Hope Explored, a three week course, a course by Christianity Explored, These sessions will take place Sunday 8th January 2023, Sunday 15th January 2023 & Sunday 22nd January 2023. More information about what to expect is below or click the learn more to be directed to the Hope Explored Web Site.

There are few emotions more powerful than hope. But these days, hope often feels hard to come by. Where can we find a hope that won’t disappoint us?

Hope Explored looks at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, this three-session series shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.

Hope Explored does not require a huge time commitment from guests and is one of the easiest ways to introduce someone to Christianity. The Christianity Explored series can then be run as a follow-up course for those eager to explore the Christian faith more.

The structure of each session is simple: a short Bible study, a talk (you can give your own using our talk outlines or use our films) and a discussion based on the talk. This series includes picture prompts to help aid discussion at the beginning of each session.

St Andrew's Church, Cheadle Hulme

Our main service is at 10:30am each Sunday. You are welcome to join us at our church building, or to watch from home on Youtube; further details of how to watch it are available on request.

Our Vicar is the Revd Dr Mark Pickles. Mark, originally from Birkenhead, became a Christian as a teenager and was ordained in the Chester Diocese. He served as an incumbent in Wharton, Winsford where he met and married Diane. They later moved to Duffield, Derbyshire for 14 years and then London for Mark to teach at Oak Hill College. In 2017, Mark became Director of Training for the North West Gospel Partnership. They have three children, Ainsley, Jake, and Reuben.

We have fortnightly house groups; and many special activities that you can be involved in through the year.

For families, we employ a children's and families worker, Fiona, and have a number of special groups, including Little Rews (Thursday mornings for pre-school children with their parents or carers); K@STA (Friday evening, children in Reception-Y6). On Sundays, creche facilities and Sunday School activities for all ages are available during our Sunday morning service.

The parish of Cheadle Hulme: St Andrew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Chester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
