The Parochial Church Council has decided with heavy hearts to close our church building. We feel we need to do this to keep us all safe because of the rising local rates of cases and deaths related to the coronavirus. Sadly, we are entering a new and more difficult phase of the pandemic. However, even though the building is closed, as a church we will still be worshipping. We will be putting together a service for people to do at home whilst we investigate live streaming our worship. Keep an eye on our website and on our Facebook page. (And, of course, we will also be supporting people who don't receive our email or have access to the internet.) We will review this decision after Sunday 7 February.
We are pleased to be able to invite you to come back to All Saints to join us for communion at 10 o'clock on a Sunday morning - starting on Sunday 19 July. We've been working through the Church of England guidance and have put in place measures to allow everyone to share communion safely. To minimise the time we spend together in an enclosed space, the services will be shorter than usual. We'll start off for the first couple of weeks without a sermon, prayers and readings and then in August, we will add these in.As you know, we are unable to sing together in church, but there will still be some music as Trevlyn will resume playing the organ. Our private prayer sessions at All Saints on Wednesdays will continue from 10 to 11 am. Please follow the signs, social distancing rules and recommended hygiene whenever you are visiting. More details are available on our website: allsaintscheadlehulme.org.uk
We are delighted to welcome people back to our church for private prayer from Sunday 14 June.We will be open on Wednesdays and Sundays from 10 to 11 amHowever, to keep us all safe, things will be a little different in the church...Please enter All Saints by the front doors on Church Road, exit will be via the door in the cloister leading onto Hilltop Avenue. There will be no entry via the cloister door to anyone during this time. The main central aisle will be cordoned off. There will be a one-way system to move around. Seating has been measured for social distancing and will be one (or one couple household) on each pew in use, with pews in between left vacant.Hand gel and disposable face masks will be available at the church entrance. Please bring your own if you have them. Our meeting room, kitchen and toilets will remain closed.Reverend Janet Owens and the Churchwardens will be on hand to offer assistance to people during their visits. Key areas will be cleaned after use.Unfortunately, we are unable to enjoy fellowship and chat inside the church at the moment as attendance is only for personal prayer. We do hope everyone understands the reason for these measures at this difficult time.
