St. Mary's in the Marketplace is a Grade 1 Listed, pre-Reformation church right at the heart of Stockport's town centre. We have loads of magnificent space, a modern kitchen and toilets and nearby car parks. We are looking for ways to keep the building open during the week that are also Christian ministries and ideally run by others as their own businesses. The examples we are thinking of are:
A cafe or restaurant or bakery business that, for example, would serve our local community by offering free teas and simple coffees (like a Place of Welcome) but would have something unique about it to attract a wider client base and pay the bills.A Christian bookshop/ gift shop.We are in process of designing an Escape Room set in the English Reformation including a Gospel message that would literally be a Grade 1 Listed Heritage Escape Room - could you make a business out of running it?But your imagination is the limit.
