Safeguarding
St James follows the House of Bishops guidance and polices.
We are committed to
Promoting a safer environment and culture. Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults within the church. Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation. Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons. Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.
We have a Parish Safeguarding officer who should be contacted if you have any concerns regarding the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Alternatively you can contact the vicar.

If you would like to better understand Safeguarding concerns and how an individual can recognise and respond to any concerns they may have. Please get in touch with our PSO who could offer basic training in safeguarding to help broaden your knowledge and understanding in this area.
It is every Christians responsibility to care for God's children.
