For this year's spring event, the committee has decided to try something different for the village - A Cheshire Rural Touring Arts (CRTA) event.
The association aims to represent a diverse programme of high-quality arts entertainment for all tastes and ages, including live theatre, literature, music and dance, in Cheshire's rural venues.
They have been fortunate enough to secure a booking for Robin Ince, who will, no doubt, be well-known to many of you.
Robin Ince, award-winning broadcaster and comedian, is best-known as the co-presenter of the multi-award-winning Radio 4 science show "The Infinite Monkey Cage". He recently wrote and presented "Writing the Universe", and a four-part solo stand-up series "Reality Tunnel". He has performed across the world from Reykjavic to Dunedin, LA to Sophia and won many awards for his shows including Time Out's outstanding achievement in comedy award. His books include "I'm a joke and so are you", "Bibliomaniac", "The Importance of Being Interested". In 2022, he won the Author of the Year from the Bookseller Association. His next book is about neurodivergence - "Normally Weird ... Weirdly Normal", followed by his first collection of poetry, "Ice cream for a Broken Tooth".
For over thirty years, Robin has entertained thousands in person and on air. But underneath the surface, a whirlwind was at play - a struggle with sadness, concentration, self-doubt and near-constant anxiety. But then he discovered he had all the hallmarks of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and his stumbling blocks became stepping stones.
His show is entitled "The Universe and Neurodiverse" and seeks to look at things a bit differently. What is being a bit weird is actually normal? What if sharing our internal struggles isn't a sign of weakness, but strength?
This promises to be an extremely entertaining evening, so do put the date in your diary and more details about tickets will follow.

All Saints, Siddington

Welcome to All Saints Parish Church in Siddington, a small historic church at the heart of a thriving rural community, in the parish of Siddington with Capesthorne.

We hold services in church every week. For details, please see Services and events.

The Rural Daneside Churches are in the process of finding and appointing a new vicar and, in the meantime, the work of the church continues.

For any enquiries, please use the "Get in Touch" page.

The church is part of a group of four neighbouring country parishes, Rural Daneside Churches, with shared values, but who have their own individual character. All the parishes come together regularly for joint services, usually at Marton C of E School, the local primary school for seven parishes in all.

All Saints’ congregation is formed not just from the village, however. Many people from the surrounding areas enjoy the fellowship and variety of worship which the church offers. You are very welcome to join any of the services, details of which can be seen on the Services and Events page.

The church is often at its best at the major services – Easter, Harvest and Christmas – when capacity congregations in a lovingly decorated building celebrate the essence of Christian faith in a modern world.

All Saints is also the driving force behind Redesmere Fete, a traditional country event which draws hundreds of visitors. See the separate page.

The parish of Siddington and Capesthorne: Holy Trinity is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. For information, please click "Safeguarding".
