On Remembrance Sunday 2023, a memorial stone was unveiled to commemorate the ten American crewmen who died when their plane crashed in the parish 80 years earlier. The American flag used on that occasion has now been framed and is displayed in the church, together with a copy of the poem written by a crew member who missed the fatal flight.
