Illustrated talk on local history

The focus is on the history of the Black Greyhound Public House 1749-1880s and the replacement Black Greyhound House that took its place c.1888.It was where the Alderley Wakes and Races were held and the history is very interesting.The talk will be held in Over Alderley at the village hall known as The Reading Room on the Macclesfield to Alderley Edge top road where the Blacksmith’s forge used to be. (SK10 4SN). Refreshments are included in the £10 price (the money going to the church organ fund). Payment will be made on the door, only names needed to know of refreshment numbers.
