Come and Sing Choral Evensong - 10th September

Singers (and congregation) welcome!
Now that our organ blower is mended, join Astbury church choir for a special Come and Sing Choral Evensong, on Sunday, 10th September. There will be an afternoon rehearsal from 2.30 to 5.30, with the service at 6.30. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided, but please bring your own sandwiches.
The music will be late Tudor and early Jacobean – the golden age of English church music – an introit, anthem, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, and responses for choir, with hymns for the congregation. Composers will include Tallis, Morley, the prolific Anon, and Mr Mudd - who fell out with the clergy at Lincoln Cathedral, but who wrote excellent music.
