ASH WEDNESDAY

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Mary
Address
Peel Lane, Astbury Village Astbury Congleton, CW12 4RQ, United Kingdom

To begin the season of Lent, a quiet service of Holy Communion and, for those who wish it, an opportunity for the tradition of Ashing - using ashes prepared from last year's Palm Sunday crosses. Revd Anne-Marie will mark the cross on our forehead as an outward sign of our spiritual observance of repentance and discipline while we prepare for the joy of Easter.
At 11.30am, a more contemporary service of Holy Communion using the words of Common Worship will be held in the Village Hall
The 7.30pm service in church is a traditional Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer.

St Mary

St Mary's Church at Astbury invites everyone, wherever they may find themselves on their spiritual journey, to join in our Christian adventure. Together as a church family, we seek to grow more like Jesus, helping carry one-another’s burdens, sharing our talents and gifts, praying and worshipping together. We do not take ourselves too seriously and we know we are far from perfect, but we do make amazing cakes.

Whether you are a regular church-goer or you just want to dip in your toes and test the water, you are sure of a warm welcome at St Mary's.

SAFEGUARDING

St Mary's cares passionately about the safety of all her church family and visitors.  Read how we make provision for safeguarding here.
