We're delighted, once again, to be welcoming Bishop Mark Tanner to church for our Confirmation Service on Sunday July 14th at 4pm.

Confirmation is a wonderful moment when we affirm our faith, often, for those of us Christened as babies, saying 'yes' to the vows made on behalf of us. It's also the moment when the Bishop prays for us to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It doesn't mean we have to have all the answers, or that we have no questions, but simply a statement of our desire to follow Christ. This service is full of joy and celebration, and always ends with lots of cake!
So although it is common for older children and teenagers to get confirmed, many adults have been wanting to get confirmed too.

It may be that you’ve never been baptised, but as an adult have started your journey of faith and would like to be baptised and confirmed (these can be done separately, but for older teenagers and adults they are often done together).

Express, grow and explore your faith.  We are a welcoming community of faith that seeks to honour the traditions of the church in a way that revives, refreshes and equips us for our life in the present, and helps guides us for the opportunities & challenges of the future.

We welcome everyone, regardless of what age you are, how much noise you (or your children!) make. If you, or your children, have special needs we will seek to work with you to make sure that St George’s is a place you can call home too.

We believe that our faith makes a difference to how we live and work. We are committed to serving our parish and beyond during the week. Do come and be part our coffee mornings, Knit & Natter & Soup Lunch – regardless of whether you come to our services or not.

Safeguarding: At St George’s Church we work hard to maintain a safe environment for all. We are committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance. If you have any concerns or enquiries regarding safeguarding, please contact our safeguarding officer.

Out of Hours Support: The Diocese of Chester partners with thirtyone:eight and you can access their Safeguarding Helpline if the Diocesan Safeguarding team are unavailable. Thirtyone:eight can be contacted on 0303 003 1111.

This also includes any safeguarding queries outside of office hours on weekdays and weekends. An Information Sharing Agreement between the two organisations will allow the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser to receive a copy of the advice thirtyone:eight may offer the caller.
