We are a welcoming church, but we are always looking to be even better at it!

Christ welcoming and included everyone. In our society we are taught from a very early age to make judgements on what is, or is not, appropriate behaviors and manners. Not all of this is bad, but being aware of our assumptions and judgements and when to utilize them and when to silence them requires us to be ever more self aware.

This course goes beyond the obvious niceties, and helps us to consider how we can be radically welcoming, not just in our church, but in in our personal lives too.

A place to be with God:

Express, grow and explore your faith.  We are a welcoming community of faith that seeks to honour the traditions of the church in a way that revives, refreshes and equips us for our life in the present, and helps guides us for the opportunities & challenges of the future.

During the winter months we will often talk about how we are a ‘warm’ church both in terms of the temperature, but, more importantly, in our welcome as people come explore life at St George’s at their own pace.

We welcome everyone, regardless of what age you are, how much noise you (or your children!) make. If you, or your children, have special needs we will seek to work with you to make sure that St George’s is a place you can call home too.

A living, active community:

We believe that our faith makes a difference to how we live and work. We are committed to serving our parish and beyond during the week. Do come and be part our coffee mornings, Knit & Natter & Soup Lunch – regardless of whether you come to our services or not.

Safeguarding: At St George’s Church we work hard to maintain a safe environment for all. We are committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance. If you have any concerns or enquiries regarding safeguarding, please contact our safeguarding officer.

Out of Hours Support: The Diocese of Chester partners with thirtyone:eight and you can access their Safeguarding Helpline if the Diocesan Safeguarding team are unavailable. Thirtyone:eight can be contacted on 0303 003 1111.

This also includes any safeguarding queries outside of office hours on weekdays and weekends. An Information Sharing Agreement between the two organisations will allow the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser to receive a copy of the advice thirtyone:eight may offer the caller.
