Our Youth Group, Pathway, is a wonderful space to hang out and relax, but we also want to offer a space where we can have good discussion and really wrestle with all the very good questions that young people often think about!

So here is Mettle!

Mettle is the place to explore faith We talk about big themes and big ideas but also play some great games and activities! There’s even pizza and ice cream (and some healthier stuff too !). All free.

We are partnering with Bowdon Church, and so the venue will alternate each week. Do encourage anyone you know to come along – sign up link below!

(Note that we start around 3.45 pm – this is to give students from all the different schools time to get there – but feel free to turn up as soon as school ends)

A support group for parents of children with SEND
Term Time only

Parenting can be quite a path to negotiate, even more so with children that have SEND. So, after many conversations last year, we’re going to put together an informal group where we can share experiences over a cuppa and support each other along the way.
We’re not professionals, and although we’ll invite the SENCO from Altrincham Primary School to chat now and then, it will mainly be us just listening to each other and offering lots of support and encouragement.
You don’t need to come to church on a Sunday, or have a child of a particular age – open to all. Please do spread the word.

Do join us for this said service of communion. This is a small, friendly community where we get to fully enjoy the beauty of the church first thing in the morning.

Our choir meets every Sunday morning at 8:30am, and then, for those that wish, stay to sing at our 9.30am service. So if you sing, or would like to give it a go, why not head down to church and be part of this lovely and friendly community?

hildren are really important to us, and it’s important to us that young children feel at home in their church which we know will come with some noise and energy depending on their mood!

Each Sunday we have some fantastic provision for our children. Normally, they will join us at the start of the service and then go out with Dee and her team to enjoy their own session and let off some much needed steam! Sometimes we have a fun filled family service (for things such as Harvest) at which point they stay in, playing a full part in all that’s going on.

For those younger, and indeed, for any children who would prefer to stay in the service there is a children’s area where they can explore all that’s on offer during the service. Also, as they get older, many of our children play an active role in our services by doing things such as reading and being the acolytes (carrying the candles) which we love!​

After the service, we all gather for coffee and biscuits, and our children get well and truly spoilt!

Church is a wonderful way for children to get comfortable speaking to a wide range of people, and gives their adults some space to reflect on the week and get a hot drink too at the end of it!

Do join us for this friendly, dignified service of communion. Whether this is your first time, or you are returning after time away, or have been coming to church for some time, a warm welcome awaits.

Exploring the tricky art of parenting!

We have qualifications for this and that, but when it comes to parenting it can feel a little overwhelming, and sometimes quite lonely.
We’re not professionals, but want to provide some space when we can talk about the challenges that parenting can present and together support and encourage each other! At times it will just be open chat, at others, we might go for a slightly more structured approach as we listen to some ideas and discuss how they might/might not work for us.
So do come along, grab a cuppa and make some new friends along the way.

A group for expectant and new parents sharing the highs and lows in a relaxed and friendly space.

A friendly, relaxed Toddler Group where your little ones can let off some steam and you can be refreshed in the process.

Come along after school for our weekly service for families. We gather in the church around 3.30 (don't worry if you're late) for our lively and interactive service, and then head into the parish room for games and a light tea of toast & crumpets!

A friendly and simple said service followed by Coffee Break. A great way to re-orientate yourself mid-week.

Dance & sing! March like a soldier! Run like a Fairy!

This PAYF group using movement and dancing to help your little one express themselves and let off some much needed steam!

In the meantime, you get to be part of this friendly, relaxed group and make some friends along the way.

Vicarage

Starting at 12pm, this friendly community gathers week for our soup lunch (with a bit of cheese too!). Come along to be part of this relaxed group as we chat away in a warm ‘home-from-home’ space whilst enjoying some fabulous food too.

Come along to this friendly group - if you knit, enjoy sharing patterns and skills. If knitting isn't yet your thing, you could learn a new skill, or, if you prefer, just come along for the natter! We sometimes branch out on a Friday night to the pub as well....?!

Within all the excitement and anticipation of Christmas, we are also deeply aware that Christmas can be a really difficult time – especially if you are missing someone you loved.

With this in mind we have in the church our ‘Blue Christmas Tree’ – a tree lit up with blue lights where you can add the names of those who you wish to remember. You can also add a prayer to it if something is feeling just a bit much at the moment.

It’s available during school hours and in all our services right up to the New Year.

In partnership with Altrincham Baptist Church, the much-loved Advent Trail at John Leigh Park returns again for 2024!

Explore the different stations of the Christmas story – a great way to entertain children and get some iconic pictures along the way too!

Don’t forget to wrap up warm and if you’re coming later on in the afternoon, bring a torch too!

Have you heard of a Reverse Advent Calendar?

This is becoming a well-established tradition at St George’s. The idea is to concentrate on giving rather than receiving. The reverse advent calendar allows you to donate items of food for each day of advent. It can be festive or everyday (non-perishable) food. Then, on some point before Sunday 22nd, bring your bag to church or drop it off at the Parish Centre; we will take them to the Hope Centre Foodbank for those that need help this Christmastide.

Partnering with Altrincham CE Primary School we are delighted that once again we are holding a Christmas Fayre!

We were bowled over with how many people came last year, and the ambience of a decorated church alongside live music made it a day to remember!

SO come along to this wonderful community event, with stalls, games, Santa’s grotto, crafts and live singing: with all of that, it’s exactly what is needed to put you into the Christmas mood!

We’ve been delighted to restart our choir, and cannot wait for some stunning anthems to be sung!

We’re also really conscious that not everyone can make regular rehearsals on a Sunday, but that there is something thrilling about singing traditional carols in a candlelit church. So, as with last year, we’re looking to swell our ranks by opening up the invitation to anyone who wants to be part of the choir for our Candlelit carols to come and join us for rehearsal on the 1st, 8th & 15th December , before going live on the 22nd! Do make as many rehearsals as you can; the key one is Sunday 15th.

A wonderful way to start the Christmas Season on the right foot!

It’s wonderful every year to see our children getting excited about their Christmas gifts and what Santa might be bringing them. Many have been planning their letters to Santa for months!

However, we also know the importance of giving as well as receiving, and we invite you to be part of our Toy Donation Service where we partner with The Hope Centre to collect gifts for children who might not otherwise receive any this year.

Please bring new, unwrapped gifts for children aged 0-18.

Come along to this friendly group and get involved with projects that seek to help those in need.

Come and meet the Nativity characters from the Garrick Theatre (and the real life donkey!),

complete the trail to receive a reward, and, at the end,

join us as we parade down to a final play complete with community carols!

A wonderful way to spend afternoon and get some Christmas Shopping done too!

Put on your favourite costume, or come as you are, and help create a Nativity Scene (complete with a real life donkey!).
