St George’s Choir:
We have spent the last few years working hard to revitalise our church choir, and we are delighted that after many years of hard work, we’ve got to that point where it is small enough not to feel overwhelming, but big enough for new people not to stand out!
So if you’d like to give it a go OR you use to sing in a church choir (or indeed fancied giving it a go), but for whatever reason stopped, and fancied returning to it, now’s your moment! Come and be part of it as we take the next step to build up our choir – you don’t have to be brilliant, and you don’t have to be able to read music – we can teach you that on the way!
Rehearsals are held on Sundays at 8.30am, and are open to all – we don’t hold auditions, so do come and be part of this friendly community: Simply head in through the main doors and follow the noise!
Our Director of our Children’s Choir, Altrincham Trebles, is Aidan McCusker:
Introducing Aidan:Aiden is a first class graduate in vocal performance from the RNCM, and is now embarking on a two year Master’s. He is also a choral scholar at Bolton Parish Church. More importantly for us, he is kind, patience and has a wonderfully gentle way of steering our young children to grow in confidence and skill, and we can’t wait to see where his leadership takes our choir this year.Altrincham Trebles:
In Sept. 2023, we started a children’s choir! This choir is held on a MONDAY at 3.20pm after school and is a fun and a fantastic community. Our choir is focused on teaching our pupils how to sing properly, how to read music and for those that want it, they will be fully prepared to sit the relevant ABRSM exams—setting them up for any musical adventure that they want to peruse in secondary school. In other words, we’ll offering free musical tuition that will last your child a lifetime. As someone who is not musical, but has a daughter who has been given opportunities to be well taught and nurtured in all things music, I can testify to the life changing difference that it makes and the opportunities that come from it.
