St. Oswald & St. Thomas is a Parish Church in Chester. Our Church is located just outside the City Centre in a densely populated area of the City. Due to our proximity to the University (just over the road) there are a great number of students living in the area, however many family homes still remain and the Garden Quarter is a thriving and vibrant community of which we are pleased to be a part.
At St. Thomas' we believe very strongly in doing something beautiful for God, and seek to involve our two schools and our local community in all that we do. Relationships with those around us as well as those who attend more regularly are vitally important as we seek to affirm all as created in the image of a God who longs for them to know something of him, and for everybody to reach their potential in faith.
At St. Thomas', "Smells, Bells, Vestments", lovely singing and skillful organ playing are merely one part of our offering a sacrifice of praise. If this doesn't sound like it might be your thing, still give us a try, you may be surprised! You don't even have to be Christian; just come with an open mind and a searching soul. Away from the drama and spectacle of the High Mass, we also have Low Masses for those who prefer simpler quieter worship.
