Is there someone you're thinking of who is no longer with us? Autumn is often a time when we remember them, and at St James Parish Church we're holding our Annual Memorial Service at 3pm on Sunday (27th October). All are welcome, and there will be the opportunity to add names to the list of those we read out on arrival. No need to book in advance. Our Service lasts around 40 minutes. Do come along if you'd like to. Thank you.
Please note: this annual Service is now at St James, not St St. Bede's. Thank you.

St Bede

Welcome to St Bede's.  Our Community Centre and Chapel have been at the heart of Claughton VIllage on the Wirral for many years, and we continue to serve our community today as part of the Church of England Parish of St James with St Bede.  You'll find us on Upton Road, Claughton.

Our Community Centre is available for booking during weekdays and on Saturdays, and we hold a weekly Service of Holy Communion at 9.30am on Tuesday mornings.  Our Parent and Toddler Group, Bumblebede's, meets on Friday mornings in Term time, and we host uniformed groups for children and young people of all ages on week nights (Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts).  St Bede's Chapel is Licensed for Weddings, and with our large Community Centre and catering-sized kitchen, can make the ideal venue for that special celebration.

Please see the Safeguarding item on this Home page for more information in this area.

To find out more, please check out the details on this website, or give our Vicar, Revd Keith Addenbrooke, a call on 0151-652-1016. We look forwards to hearing from you.  Thank you.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding

At St James we work hard to maintain a safe environment for all. We are committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance. If you have any concerns or enquiries regarding safeguarding, please contact our Safeguarding Officer or the Diocesan Safeguarding Team for the Diocese of Chester:

Parish Safeguarding Officer: Revd Keith Addenbrooke

Phone: 0151-652-1016 or by email: [email protected]

We also have an independent Safeguarding Officer in the Parish, whose confidential contact details are on the posters in St James and St Bede if you'd prefer to speak with them.

The Diocesan Safeguarding Team: [email protected] or on 01928 643442

Out of Hours Support

The Diocese of Chester partners with thirtyone:eight and you can access their Safeguarding Helpline if the Diocesan Safeguarding Team is unavailable by phoning 0303 003 1111.

This also includes any safeguarding queries outside of office hours on weekdays and weekends. An Information Sharing Agreement between the two organisations will allow the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser to receive a copy of the advice thirtyone:eight may offer the caller.

In the case of an emergency

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Service.
