After three years of hard work we're about to start work repurposing the Old Laundry which stands in the new churchyard.
It's had various uses: a laundry for the big house once on the site, a bakehouse (the bread oven is still there) and the sharp-eyed among you might see from the photo that it was used by the gravedigger and funeral director for storage! It's about to become a community meeting room and resource centre developed on green principles.
We'll keep you posted, but would like to thank all the organisations who have helped us raise the money needed.
These include North Walney Extension Fund (Orsted), CGP, Garfield Weston, Cumbria Foundation, Lake District Foundation and South Copeland and Copeland Community Funds.
