About Us
The Mission Church is set in the middle of the village of Kirkland, about 1 mile from the A5086 Cockermouth to Egremont road near the village of Rowrah.
The sanctuary can be screened off to provide a small hall for community activities during the week. There are kitchen and (disabled access) toilet facilities plus a side room for meetings and children's activities. We are available for hire for children's birthday parties and other social events when there is no regular booking.
The monthly pattern of worship is as follows:
1st Sunday: 11.00 am Cafe Church (Occasionally All Age Worship)
2nd Sunday: 11.00 am Holy Communion (Common Worship)
3rd Sunday: 11.00 am Service of the Word (Methodist)
4th Sunday: 11.00 am Informal Holy Communion
(On the 1st and 3rd Sunday in the month 9 a.m. Holy Communion is at St Mary's Ennerdale; On 2nd and 4th Sundays 9 a.m. Holy Communion is at St Michael's Lamplugh. If there is a 5th Sunday in the month, a Methodist communion service (but using Anglican wine) is held at one of the churches at 10.30 a.m.)
On the first Tuesday afternoon of every month (except June) there is an
informal get together between 2 and 4 p.m. Drop in anytime for a cuppa,
a cake and a chat. If you are feeling active, you may find someone to
play pool or table tennis with you!
During the week various groups such as Mother and Toddler, Yoga and Karate hire the hall. If you are interested, contact us and we will put you n touch with the relevant organiser.
In the summer of 2021 we received our Eco Church Bronze award
The church is part of Lamplugh, Kirkland and Ennerdale Local Ecumenical Partnership, for details see https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/12456/benefice/
