Situated in west Cumbria, the South Calder Mission Community comprises the parishes of the Seatallan benefice and those of the Western Lake District Churches benefice. It sits within the borough of Copeland, where the Lake District meets the Irish Sea coastline. It contains England's highest mountain, deepest lake and smallest church.
The Mission Community is ecumenical and includes the Methodist community based at their churches in Seascale and Gosforth, which are part of the Methodist Church Western Fells Circuit.
