St John's Helsington

St John’s is the Parish Centre of Worship in the Parish of Underbarrow with Helsington in the beautiful Lyth Valley. All Saints’ Underbarrow is the Parish Church.

We meet almost every Sunday at 9.30am to worship with most of our services taking place at All Saint's. We worship at St John's on the 4th Sunday of the month from May to September. The church is open every day and you are very welcome to pop in and enjoy this beautiful quiet space. An inviting place to pause, reflect and pray.

About Us

We are a welcoming, worshipping community of 30-40 folk living under the shadow of Scout Scar. St John's is in a stunning location with glorious views across the Lyth Valley to Morecambe Bay and the Lake District Fells. It is a lovely peaceful place to pause and pray after an invigorating walk. All Saints Underbarrow is recently refurbished with a kitchen, toilets and a flexible space at the back so that it can be used for community events. It is wheel chair accessible.

All Saints’ and St John’s are part of the Two Valleys Mission Community, which includes seven rural churches and St Thomas’s Church, Kendal.
