The present Crosscrake Church was rebuilt in 1874, designed by the Lancaster firm of Paley & Austin, who had designed built the large house at Sedgwick for the Wakefield family a few years previously . A chapel, founded by Anselm de Furness had existed on the site from as early as 1190. The Church sits in the attractive undulating 'Drumlin country' south of Kendal and in the Spring the churchyard is full of wild daffodils.

Many changes have taken place to the building over the years and at we have just finished updating our Church building   to give it more sustainable future in a more inclusive and welcoming building, with toilets , an area for socializing and making refreshments, better lighting and sound system and more comfortable provision for weekday activities.

We are a small friendly church for all ages; families, single people, old and young. We are always pleased to welcome new people and those on holiday. We invite you  to come and visit the Church or even better to join us for one of our services or events.
